1 pound strawberries, sliced
2 tablespoons sugar
1 1/2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup butter, cold, grated
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup sugar
Step 1: Mix the strawberries and sugar and let sit in the fridge for 30 minutes to a few hours.
Step 2: Mix the flour, sugar and baking powder in a large bowl.
Step 3: Mix in the grated butter with your hands until it forms fine crumbs.
Step 4: Add the buttermilk and mix until the dough is formed.
Step 5: Split the dough into 4 equal parts and place them on parchment paper on a baking sheet.
Step 6: Bake in a 400-degree preheated oven for 15 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
Step 7: Whip the whipping cream and sugar.
Step 8: Cut the shortcake in half top with the strawberries and whipped cream and enjoy!
