Rick’s Red Pasta Sauce:
2 cans 16 ounce Diced Tomatoes
2 Tablespoons Butter
1 Large Onion
Pinch of Sugar - Optional
Salt and Pepper
Put everything in a pan and simmer for 3-4 hours. After cooking blend everything together.
1 Pound Whole Wheat Pasta
8 Ounces Cream Cheese
1-2 Cloves garlic
1 Pound Italian Sausage Sweet or Hot, Your Choice
Basil, Oregano, Thyme if fresh, enough to make 3 tablespoons, if dry, one tablespoon of each
1 Cup Parmesan Cheese
Step 1: Bring salted water to a boil and cook pasta. When pasta is cooked and drained, add cream cheese, garlic and herbs.
Step 2: Mix until all the cream cheese is melted.
Step 3: Brown Italian Sausage and drain if needed and add to the red sauce.
Step 4: Spray a baking dish and add a little of the sauce to the bottom of the dish. Top with pasta, pour the rest of the red sauce over the pasta and top with most of the Parmesan cheese.
Step 5: Bake at 350-degrees for about 50-minutes. Take out of the oven and top with more fresh basil and the reserved
Step 6: Parmesan cheese. Cool for about 30-minutes.
