Za'atar, lemon and garlic marinated chicken breast grilled to smoky perfection! A Mediterranean spice blend with thyme, sumac, oregano and sesame seeds that is great on everything from grilled chicken, to naan to hummus, etc!
4 (6 ounce) chicken breasts
1/4 cup za'atar
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 lemon, juice and zest (or 1/4 cup lemon juice)
2 cloves garlic, minced
salt and pepper to taste
Za'atar:
3 tablespoons thyme
2 tablespoons sumac
1 tablespoon oregano
2 tablespoons sesame seeds, toasted
1 teaspoon salt
Step 1: Marinate the chicken in the mixture of the remaining ingredients for 30 minutes to overnight
Step 2: Cook over a grill heated to medium-high heat until cooked, about 3-5 minutes before setting a side
Step 3: Za'atar: Grind everything except 1 tablespoon sesame seeds and then mix in the whole sesame seeds and enjoy
