1 Head of Cabbage Chopped
1 Onion Chopped
1 Cup Red Pepper Chopped
1/2 Cup Water
8 Ounces Sliced Pimentoes Drained
2 Pounds Smoked Sausage
4 Tablespoons Butter
3 Tablespoons Flour
1-2 Cups Milk
2 Cups Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese
4 Ounces of Cream Cheese
1 Teaspoon Penzeys Bicetennial Bub
1/2 Teasepoon Tarragon
3 Clove Garlic Pressed
1/4 Cup Fresh Bread Crumbs
2 Tablespoons Butter for the top of Casserole
Step 1: Put chopped cabbage in a bowl with water and microwave for about 10 minutes. Half way through add the red pepper and onion. Drain cabbage .
Step 2: In a sause pan add butter on low, when butter was melted add flour . Cook for a few minutes and add all the seasonings. Slowing add milk leaving some to the end. Add cheese and see how much milk you will need. Add additional milk if too stiff.
Step 3: Cut sausage into bit size bites and add to cabbage. Toss the cabage with the mixture with the cheese sause. Pour into a sparded 9x13 dish. Top with Pimeentos. Add bread crumbs and the additional 2 Tablespoons of butter.
Step 4: Bake at 350 for about a 45-minutes to 1 hour. You will want the cabbage to still be crisp.
